As some of you will know, Zenith and Movado were under the same ownership from the late '60s to the late '70s.The Laureato Skeleton Ceramic was introduced late this year, and the version you see here is going to be available only in the U.S. market and through U.S. authorized retailers. It's identical to the non-special edition model except for the hands and rehaut – both are done in a link deep blue, which, says GP, is a nod to the blue star field in the American flag.Breguet jumped headfirst into an experimental phase at this point. A watch known as the Aeronavale 3807 was limited to approximately 1,500 pieces and came with a polished bezel and bracelet, a glossy dark blue cobalt dial, and the first application of an exhibition caseback in the Type XX family. Simple and beautiful, in stainless steel.The new SBGJ275 is a part of the Sport Collection and it hits that sportiness in the most poetic Grand Seiko way. The blue dial is inspired by the sky over Mt. Iwate, the peak visible from the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, when it is blanketed by a sea of clouds. That's surrounded by a GMT inner rehaut and a blue and white rotating sapphire crystal GMT bezel, so you can track three time zones at once.</br>
Both sub-dials contain small orange hands to match the three orange central hands.Similar to the above watch is Eric Clapton's 3970 in white gold with a salmon dial, Breguet numerals, and a tachymeter scale. Obviously, this watch is significant for a few reasons: it's Clapton's; and it has a unique salmon dial with Breguet numerals. The most interesting thing about this watch is that it out-performed Clapton's 5004 that sold in the same exact sale by $50,000, with the 3970 selling for $459,000 and link the 5004 selling for $405,000. You can read more about this watch here.Officially only the third ever ceramic Royal Oak, the new Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin follows 2017's Perpetual Calendar and the wild Tourbillon Chronograph Openworked in offering that iconic Royal Oak form in a modern material like ceramic. Sized to 41mm just like the ceramic QP, this new hand-wound model rocks a large tourbillon cut into the six o'clock position of the "Tapisserie Evolutive" dial pattern.Nobody really spoke much about the Mission to Jupiter, the sand-colored variant I also had a chance to wear over the course of the week. But I was definitely taken more by the Jupiter – which surprised me. Something about its muted colorway as opposed to the flashier Mars made it a more enjoyable experience. I even saw shades of the famed Ultraman Speedmaster in its design, by way of the orange accents.</br>
